Religious Education and Other World Views
At Woodbury, we value the teaching of Religious Education because it provokes challenging questions about: the ultimate meaning and purpose of life, beliefs about God, issues of right and wrong and what it means to be human. Pupils are encouraged and supported to learn from different religions, beliefs, values and traditions while exploring their own beliefs and questions of meaning, and to challenge themselves to reflect on, consider, analyse, interpret and evaluate issues of truth, belief, faith and ethics and communicate their responses. They are also encouraged to consider their own spirituality and to have an opportunity to marvel and find awe in the world around them. Exposure to other cultures and beliefs increases their cultural currency in a diverse world and helps them to better understand their place within it.
